Condominium Law Educational Program
Habitat’s energy efficiency program is under development. It will be directed toward the renovation of panel block properties in Bulgarian cities and will be based upon the implementation of the new condominium law in Bulgaria.
HFH Bulgaria will rely on the legal framework to help apartment owners establish legal homeowners’ associations and will educate members of homeowner associations about the recent condominium law. HFH Bulgaria will make recommendations for rehabilitating apartments to reduce energy expenses. We will conduct seminars for the managers of the homeowners associations and they will distribute information on energy efficiency and condominium legal framework to the rest of the apartment owners
Community development – a pilot project
HFH Bulgaria is planning a pilot project focusing on community development. The location will be the village of Krainitsi near Dupnitsa where we already work with families and partner organizations. Our desire is to demonstrate a model for dealing with poverty housing alongside with the provision of opportunities for education, employment and social cohesion. Specific activities will include: building of new core houses, renovations for sanitation and energy efficiency , urban planning, infrastructure, financial education, etc.
